From Sogen:
Would you like to deepen your Zen practice? If so, you will have greater than usual support during the upcoming Spring Ango practice period, from March 21 to June 21. Ango (rhymes with ‘bongo’ rather than ‘tango’) is an ancient sangha practice dating from the time of the Buddha, when, during the monsoon rainy season, monks and nuns would pause their usual wandering lifestyle and gather together in sheltered places to practice and discuss the dharma together.
This spring will be the first time Sangha Jewel has taken up this tradition of a season of more intensive practice, and we hope you will all find a way to join in. Participation could look like adding more minutes to your daily zazen practice; attending weekly offerings at Sangha Jewel more regularly; attending some of the retreats that will be offered during Ango; or any other way you might like to add something more to your usual routine. So please be thinking about how you might like to deepen your practice!
