From Sogen:
It’s a new year, a new day, a new moment, a new breath. During the first Sunday service of 2026, we practiced Fusatsu, the beautiful full-moon ceremony of atonement and renewal of precept vows. Recalling with regret harmful actions we may have done and renewing our vows to do no harm, to do good, and to do good for others. We can practice atonement any time we become aware of regrets we have for thoughts, words, or deeds that may have harmed others, or ourselves, recently or in the distant past. Releasing regrets and stepping into a new day, a new moment of living by vows to do good for ourselves and others. Vowing to do our best and to keep going. May you be well. May you be free from suffering. May you be happy.
