From Sogen:
We all have personalities, and at the same time we are all part of the whole world. In our practice, on and off the cushion, we come to know our habitual thoughts, opinions, desires, feelings, and practice setting them aside. Setting them aside so we can experience the larger view. Experience the continuous emergence of the great life of the world.
The pink sky and fresh air of dawn, apples and pears ripening heavily on trees, a wide-eyed baby and her loving parents, the funeral of an old friend, the golden full moon rising. Our families and friends, our sangha mates, strangers on the street. We’re all in this together. Ram Das says, “We’re all walking each other home.”
