On the path to awakening we recognize and commit to a life that nourishes our world by living in harmony with universal truths.  The 5 Precepts ceremony is a formal commitment to live in accord with the fundamental truths and the Jukai ceremony is a deeper commitment to the Buddhist path of awakening.
